Algeria come from behind to beat Jordan 2-1

Algeria came from behind to beat Jordan 2-1 in Group J at the 2026 World Cup, recovering after going behind in the first half at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco.

Jordan took the lead in the 35th minute when a loose Algerian switch of play was pounced on, allowing Mahend Taha to feed the move back inside the box. Musa Al-Tamari's first effort was only half cleared, and Nizar Al-Rashdan finished with an outside-of-the-foot strike.

Algeria pressed for an equaliser after the break and found it in the 69th minute through Benbouali, who headed in from a corner.

The African side kept pushing and completed the turnaround in the 82nd minute, with Ghouiri scoring from another corner.

The win lifts Algeria to three points and third place in the group, behind Argentina on six and Austria on three.
