Alphonso Davies remains uncertain for Canada’s Group B meeting with Qatar on Thursday after only a partial return to training.
The 25-year-old Bayern Munich winger was present at Canada’s National Development Centre on Monday and joined parts of the warm-up and session, but Canada Soccer said he is still working back from a hamstring injury. A team official confirmed he has not rejoined full group training.
Canada moved to Vancouver after drawing 1-1 with Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto in their opening Group B match. They will play their next two games in the city, with the Qatar fixture coming first.
Elsewhere in the group, Switzerland face Bosnia and Herzegovina in Los Angeles before Canada take on Qatar. The result in Vancouver could have a major say in the group’s qualifying picture.
