Messi’s final Argentina appearance
The match is scheduled for 6 October 2026 in Buenos Aires and is being framed as Messi’s last game in an Argentina shirt. FIFA had previously confirmed that the fixture will serve as his farewell to the national team.
Tickets were priced from about 90,000 to 480,000 Argentine pesos, and the strong demand led to a virtual queue and delays in the online sale.
Messi has played for Argentina since 2005 and has 207 caps and 125 goals. More than 80,000 fans are expected at the Monumental for the occasion.
