Bosnia and Herzegovina moved into the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup with a 3-1 win over Qatar in Seattle on Wednesday night.
Karem Alaybegovic put Bosnia ahead in the 29th minute, before Qatar defender Hussein Sultan Al-Breik turned the ball into his own net five minutes later. Hassan Al-Haydos pulled one back for Qatar in the 42nd minute, but Ermin Memic sealed the result in the 80th minute.
Ahmed Fathi of Qatar and Memic were booked.
The result took Bosnia to four points and third place in Group B, enough to progress as one of the best third-placed sides. In the other group match, Canada lost 2-1 to Switzerland.
Switzerland finished top of the section with seven points. Canada also ended on four points, but took second place on goal difference. Qatar finished bottom with one point and exited the tournament.
