Brazil secured first place in Group C at the 2026 World Cup with a 3-0 win over Scotland at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Vinícius Júnior put Carlo Ancelotti’s side ahead in the seventh minute after Scotland lost possession deep in their own half. He later had a second goal ruled out by VAR, before doubling Brazil’s lead in first-half stoppage time from Bruno Guimarães’ pass.
Matheus Cunha made it 3-0 in the 60th minute, also set up by Guimarães, and Brazil saw out the match without fuss. Neymar then came on in the 76th minute for his first appearance for the national team in 981 days, drawing a loud response from the crowd.
Brazil finished with seven points and advanced as group winners on goal difference. Morocco also ended on seven points after a 4-2 win in the other Group C match, but placed second. Scotland finished third on three points and must wait on results elsewhere to see whether they can progress as one of the best third-placed sides. Haiti went out without a point.
César Arturo Ramos refereed the match and booked Danilo, Fabinho and Ryan Christie.
