Cape Verde coach Bubista praised his players after the draw with Spain, saying they showed discipline, effort and unity against one of the world’s best teams.
He said the plan was built around concentration and defensive work because Spain were always likely to dominate possession. Bubista added that his side fought from the first minute to the last and deserved the result.
The coach described the point as bigger than the scoreboard, saying it mattered for Cape Verde football and showed the team had not gone to the World Cup stage just to make up the numbers.
Bubista also kept his focus on Group H, where two matches remain. He said nothing has been decided yet, and added that the same spirit could keep Cape Verde in the race for qualification.
