João Cancelo is set to rejoin Barcelona after agreeing to end his contract with Al Hilal, with Fabrizio Romano marking the move as complete.
Contract termination clears the way
Romano said the final obstacle to Cancelo's return has now been removed. The defender had one year left on his Al Hilal deal, but has reached an agreement to terminate it and leave as a free agent.
Travel and signing expected next week
Cancelo is expected to receive permission to travel early next week before completing the formalities of his move.
Barcelona had already agreed all of the terms with the player in June, according to the report, and he is now ready to sign after the Saudi club settled his exit.
