Manchester City are edging closer to a deal for Elliott Anderson, with the England midfielder said to want the move.
Forest have rejected City’s latest offer, understood to be close to €140 million, but negotiations are now moving towards the Midlands club’s asking price of about €150 million.
Anderson, 23, has 11 England caps and City are reported to be in a stronger position than Forest as the talks continue.
If the transfer is completed, it would rank among the most expensive deals in football history. A fee above €140 million would also make Anderson the costliest midfielder ever and surpass the Premier League record, which was set by Liverpool’s €150 million signing of Alexander Isak.
