De la Fuente says Spain meet World Cup targets

Spain head into the 2026 World Cup with a clean bill of health and a manager pleased with their build-up, according to Luis de la Fuente.

De la Fuente said his squad had met all of its preparation targets and that he was happy with what he saw in Spain's latest outing. He added that the team will go into the tournament without any injured players.

The Spain boss also addressed talk of his side being among the main contenders for the title. He said that recognition reflects work that has been done well and earned through hard work, but added that being labelled a contender guarantees nothing.

De la Fuente said there are other teams at the tournament who are as strong as Spain. He said his players trust their style and believe it suits them, while also staying humble about the level of competition they will face.
