England meet Ghana in key Group L clash

England play Ghana in their second Group L match at Gillette Stadium in Boston tonight, with both sides arriving after opening wins. England beat Croatia 4-2 and sit above Ghana on goal difference.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are being talked up as one of the tournament’s stronger teams after a clean defensive run in qualifying and a deep attack led by Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice. England also have Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon and Rogers in forward areas, while John Stones and Marc Guéhi have formed the centre-back pairing.

Ghana, coached by Carlos Queiroz, opened with a 1-0 win over Panama and will look to unsettle England with pace and physicality. Antoine Semenyo, who has scored 17 goals this season, is among their main threats. The Black Stars are without Mohammed Kudus and Mohammed Salisu.

The match also brings a direct meeting between Queiroz and Tuchel, two coaches with very different approaches.
