France started their World Cup 2026 campaign with a 3-1 win over Senegal at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey.
The 2018 world champions and 2022 runners-up were held 0-0 at half-time before Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. Bradley Barcola added a second in the 82nd minute.
Mbappé then struck again in stoppage time, converting in the 90+6th minute. Senegal pulled one back almost immediately through Ibrahim Mbaye in the 90+5th minute, but France had already done enough to take the points.
