Gennaro Gattuso has been named Serie A coach of the month for October after Lazio won all four of their league matches during the period under review.
Award and voting
The official Philadelphia coach of the month award covered managers from rounds six to nine of the 2026-27 season. A panel of sports media executives chose the winner on technical criteria, results and team performance.
Lazio scored 14 goals and conceded four across the four matches, taking 12 points from 12. They beat Monza 3-1, Juventus 3-0, Parma 2-1 and Sassuolo 6-2.
Lazio's start to the season
The run takes Lazio to the top of the table after 10 rounds, with nine wins, one draw and 28 points. They are three points clear of Inter, and it is Lazio's best start after 10 matches since the three-points-for-a-win system was introduced.
Serie A executive director Luigi De Siervo said Gattuso has built a modern team with strong organisation and intensity. He added that Lazio have had 12 different scorers and defended with a team mindset that does not want to give up any points.
