Google has unveiled a set of World Cup 2026 features for Search, AI Mode and Gemini, with live scores, match navigation and interactive tactical analysis built in.
The company said the changes will roll out in the coming days and should arrive before the tournament begins. Group A starts on 11 June, and Google is using the event to show off newer Gemini 3 Pro and AI Search tools.
Search results for live sport have had a small redesign to make it easier to follow several matches at once. A FIFA-branded strip now appears above the game being viewed, while a carousel shows other fixtures and kick-off times. The TV and streaming card also highlights available broadcasters.
Google said score animations will update in real time, including celebrations for goals and red-card moments. In AI Mode, users will be able to ask tactical questions about the World Cup and see interactive visuals to help explain the answers.
Those richer interface elements are currently available to AI Mode Pro and Ultra subscribers, but Google said they will be free to all users in Search for a period this summer. Gemini is also being updated with live scores, standings, news and more visual content for matchdays.
