Guardiola backs Manchester City after financial ruling

Pep Guardiola has backed Manchester City after the English club was found guilty of breaching financial rules, telling supporters he is “more than ever” behind them.

Guardiola sends a message to fans

The former City manager wrote on X that he wanted every Manchester City fan to know he was there for them. He added that he would continue to support the club, owner, chairman, Ferran Soriano, the players, staff and his successor, Enzo Maresca.

“Let me be completely clear... we will get through this together,” Guardiola wrote. “I love you all.”

Club has rejected findings

On Tuesday, Soriano, City’s chief executive, had already rejected the findings of the independent commission in a video message to club staff.

Guardiola led City from 2016 until the end of last season, when he handed over to Maresca after 10 years in charge. During his spell, City won six Premier League titles, including four in a row, three FA Cups, five League Cups and the Champions League.
