The Norway striker scored twice at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, helping his side to victory in a match that kicked off at 03:30 local time on Tuesday.
It was the second game in a row in which Haaland has been picked as the best player on the pitch.
His double took him to four goals at the tournament, level with Kylian Mbappe. Lionel Messi leads the World Cup scoring chart on five.
