Achraf Hakimi was named man of the match after Morocco beat Haiti 4-2 in Atlanta to secure qualification from Group C at the 2026 World Cup.
Haiti stunned Morocco early when Lenny Joseph’s 10th-minute effort went in off Yassine Bounou. Hakimi levelled in the 39th minute with his first goal of the tournament, finishing a move that began on the left through Brahim Diaz.
Wilson Isidor restored Haiti’s lead with a powerful strike from distance in the 43rd minute, but Morocco responded almost immediately. Ismael Saibari set up Hakimi on the right, and the captain made no mistake to make it 2-2 before half-time.
Morocco took control after the break through Saibari’s second, with Hakimi again involved in the build-up, before Sofiane Rahimi made it 3-2 from a corner in the 78th minute. Yassine added a fourth in the closing stages.
It was Hakimi’s 13th World Cup appearance. He also captained Morocco to the semi-finals in 2022 and was named African Footballer of the Year in 2025.
