Inter have officially announced the signing of John Stones on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
First move abroad for the England defender
The 32-year-old leaves English football for the first time in his career after a long spell in the domestic game. Inter described the deal in a formal statement and welcomed the centre-back to the club.
From Barnsley to the Nerazzurri
Stones was born in Barnsley on 28 May 1994 and grew up in Thurlstone. He started out playing football with his father and friends before joining local side Penistone Church, where he trained on Wednesday evenings.
He was spotted by Barnsley scouts after impressing in local matches. At that stage, he played as a forward, but later moved deeper as he developed and settled into central defence.
His calm on the ball, ability to build from the back and tactical awareness helped turn him into one of English football's more highly regarded young defenders.
