Harry Kane has returned to Bayern Munich after 86 days away and said talks over a new contract are set to begin soon.
Bayern comeback
The England striker rejoined the squad at the club’s official men’s and women’s team presentation in front of supporters. Around 2,000 fans attended, and Kane was cheered alongside late returnees Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano.
Kane last played for Bayern in the cup final against Stuttgart, where he scored a hat-trick. He then joined up with England, helped them finish third at the World Cup, and took his summer break before reporting back to Munich.
Contract and Ballon d'Or
Kane said his current deal runs until 2027, but negotiations over an extension should start next week or the week after. “There is only one year left on my contract and now is the time to talk about it,” he said. “We will speak next week or the week after. Both sides are completely calm.”
He also addressed his Ballon d’Or chances, saying the outcome is not in his hands. Kane said he has done everything he can on a personal level and that winning the prize would be “something amazing”.
