Harry Kane has said he wants to be the best player in the world and sees the Ballon d'Or as a target after what he described as his most successful season yet.
Kane sets out Ballon d'Or aim
Speaking to Téléfoot on TF1 ahead of England's September and October 2026 international fixtures, Kane said last season will always hold a special place for him because of his goals for Bayern and England, as well as the trophies he collected.
He also said Bayern's last Ballon d'Or winner was Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, around 45 years ago, underlining how long it has been since a player from the club won the award.
Kane named Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Michael Olise among the players in contention, saying this year's race feels open.
How Kane wants to be remembered
Kane said he wants to be remembered as a player who put the team first and showed respect to team-mates.
He added that no player is bigger than their club or country, and said he has always worked hard away from the spotlight, believing in himself through good times and bad. Kane said he wants to keep going in the same way for as long as possible.
