Dodi Lukebakio says Belgium are heading into the 2026 World Cup with a strong sense of purpose, insisting that success will depend on the full squad rather than just the usual starters.
The 28-year-old winger said playing at a World Cup is a huge honour for any footballer and described his own place in the squad as a dream realised. He added that Belgium’s players have been preparing with enthusiasm for what he called the biggest event in world football.
Lukebakio said Belgium need all 26 players in the group if they are to reach the latter stages, with everyone ready to step in when required. He also pointed to the competition for places in attack, saying Belgium have several talented wingers coming through and that the battle for starting spots keeps standards high.
He said the atmosphere in camp is positive and the squad is united, with both starters and substitutes ready to help the team. Belgium, he added, are drawing lessons from past disappointments and want to represent their country properly at the tournament.
