Enzo Maresca is close to becoming Manchester City’s new head coach, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian reporter says Chelsea and City have reached an agreement worth around €20m to release Maresca from his contract. He adds that the 44-year-old is expected to travel to Manchester on Tuesday to complete the final steps of his exit from Chelsea before signing a new deal.
Di Marzio reports that City are offering Maresca a three-year contract as they look to start a long-term project at the Etihad Stadium.
Neither club has confirmed the agreement publicly. If it is completed, Maresca would become one of the biggest coaching appointments ahead of next season in the Premier League.
