Marsh says Canada can still progress after Bosnia draw

Jesse Marsh said Canada are still well placed to reach the knockout stage after a 0-0 draw with Bosnia in their opening match at the 2026 World Cup.

The Canada head coach called it a difficult game and praised his players for showing character against a Bosnia side that put them under pressure in parts of the contest. He said Canada battled to the final whistle for a winner, but could not quite turn that effort into three points.

Marsh said he had gone into the match looking for a win and was not entirely satisfied with the draw, though he stressed that every point matters at a World Cup. He also said Canada created good chances and could have scored more, while adding that the finishing needs to improve.

He finished by saying it was only the first game of the group stage and that Canada still control their own fate if they stay focused and work harder.
