Portugal beat Uzbekistan 5-0 in their second World Cup 2026 match to collect their first win after drawing with Congo in their opener.
Roberto Martínez said the performance reflected the reaction he wanted after the first-game stalemate. He said some tournaments need a match like the opener to help a team move forward.
Martínez added that Portugal showed the same attitude and commitment as before, but with more maturity because it was no longer their first game.
He said he was very pleased with the result.
