Michael Oliver to referee Barcelona against PSG

Oliver appointed for Paris clash

Michael Oliver has been chosen to referee Barcelona's Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, at Parc des Princes.

Barcelona, under Hansi Flick, have started the competition with two straight wins and arrive after a 4-1 victory over Galatasaray in Turkey. PSG, managed by Luis Enrique, will try to use home advantage against one of the teams expected to be in the mix near the top of the competition.

Previous meeting between the sides

Oliver is one of Europe's most experienced referees and has been on FIFA's international list since 2012. He has already taken charge of major Champions League matches and has previous experience with both clubs.

He also refereed Barcelona and PSG's league-phase meeting in October 2025, when the French side won 2-1 in Barcelona.

The officiating will draw attention in a fixture that brings together two attack-minded teams with plenty at stake in the league phase.
