More than five million World Cup 2026 tickets sold

FIFA says more than five million tickets have already been sold for the 2026 World Cup.

The tournament will be the biggest in the competition’s history, with 48 teams playing across 39 days. FIFA believes the total attendance record of 3.5 million set at the 1994 World Cup in the United States is likely to be beaten.

FIFA also reminded fans that a match ticket does not guarantee entry into the host countries. Supporters still need to check the entry rules for the United States, Canada and Mexico separately, and the governing body has urged them to apply for visas as early as possible.

Ticket holders for matches in the United States can also use FIFA PASS, a priority appointment system for visa interviews. The scheme is designed to speed up the process for fans travelling to the tournament.
