Bayern Munich are set to be without Jamal Musiala for Friday night’s Bundesliga opener against Stuttgart, according to Bild. The decision follows two pre-season friendlies in which Musiala suddenly fainted during matches against Leipzig and Heidenheim.
Medical staff and coaches hold Musiala back
Vincent Kompany rested the midfielder in Bayern’s 2-1 German Super Cup win at Signal Iduna Park, and the club’s coaching staff and medical team have now decided to keep him out again.
Musiala is also expected to miss Bayern’s DFB-Pokal first-round tie against Osnabrück. The plan, as reported by Bild, is for him to be available for the league match against Schalke in the second Bundesliga round, scheduled for 14 September.
