Julian Nagelsmann says Jamal Musiala is fit enough to start for Germany in their World Cup 2026 group game against Curaçao.
The Germany coach said his squad have trained well in recent days despite the heat, with a positive mood in camp and plenty of focus ahead of their first match of the tournament. He said the players are eager to get going after the qualifiers, the final squad selection and the usual pre-tournament noise.
Nagelsmann also urged caution over Curaçao, comparing the tie to early rounds in the DFB-Pokal, where bigger teams can run into opponents with nothing to lose. He added that Dick Advocaat gives Curaçao experience and organisation, and said Germany must not take them lightly.
On Musiala, Nagelsmann said the midfielder is available for the starting line-up, though he still needs more time to reach his best form. He said the only way back to full sharpness is through matches and minutes, after a long spell away from competitive rhythm. Germany’s coach added that both staff and players trust Musiala’s quality.
