Neymar is reportedly weighing up retirement after ending his Brazil career at 33 following the national team's exit from the 2026 World Cup at the last-16 stage against Norway.
According to UOL Brazil, the Santos forward may either announce his retirement in the next few days or wait until his contract expires in December. The report says he has already closed the chapter on a 16-year international career, during which he won 130 caps and scored 80 goals.
People close to Neymar have reportedly pointed to mental fatigue, media pressure and a feeling that his efforts have gone underappreciated as key reasons behind his doubts about continuing.
A move to a club with less media scrutiny remains an option, but UOL says retirement is the more likely outcome. Neymar is expected to make a final decision soon.
