Mehdi Taremi’s next step at Olympiakos is expected to be decided after the 2026 World Cup, according to reports in Greece.
The Iran striker still has one year left on his contract and played a solid first season in Greece. Greek outlet Gavros says he is set to be one of Iran’s leading figures at the tournament in the United States, where he will carry much of the attacking burden.
Olympiakos are also understood to be keeping an eye on any offers from abroad for the 32-year-old. If proposals arrive, the club will assess them before making a decision on his future.
Taremi joined after his spell at Inter and finished last season as Olympiakos’ second-top scorer behind Ayoub El Kaabi. He scored 16 goals and added six assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
