Roma are trying to extend Emanuele Lulli’s contract after the 19-year-old defender drew interest from several major Premier League clubs.
Premier League scouts take notice
According to Tuttomercatoweb, scouts from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham first went to watch Roma full-back Wesley but left impressed by Lulli’s performances. Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring him, although no formal bid has been reported.
Lulli, born on 17 August 2007, joined Roma’s academy in 2021 and earned a place in Gian Piero Gasperini’s first-team plans this summer. The 184cm defender can play at right-back or wing-back and has been used in both roles.
Roma move to protect his future
He has made five Serie A appearances this season, four of them starts, and has played 343 minutes in total. Lulli has also made his debut for Italy Under-21s.
Roma want to keep him until 2031, with his current contract due to run until June 2027. Italian reports say talks are progressing well and that any new deal would come with a substantial pay rise.
The club hope to secure fresh terms before more interest turns into an offer.
