Paris Saint-Germain have matched their best run in the Champions League after beating Barcelona 4-2, taking their unbeaten streak in the competition to 13 matches.
Club record matched
The French champions have collected 9 wins and 4 draws during that run, matching the best sequence in the club’s history in Europe’s top competition. It is the first time since 2012-13 that PSG have put together a stretch of that length in the Champions League.
The previous club mark was set between October 2012 and November 2013, when PSG were building their place among Europe’s leading sides. The victory over Barcelona also ended the Spanish club’s 11-match unbeaten run against PSG.
Strong start this season
Luis Enrique’s team have also made a perfect start to this season’s Champions League, with 3 wins from 3 and 14 goals scored. PSG now have a chance next week to set a new club record by stretching their unbeaten run to 14 matches in the competition.
