Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Denzel Dumfries from Inter, with the Dutch defender agreeing a deal until 30 June 2030.
The 30-year-old arrives to fill the gap left by Dani Carvajal and will compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold for a starting place this season in La Liga and the Champions League.
Madrid said in a statement that both clubs had reached an agreement for the transfer.
The move means one of the positions Madrid had targeted for strengthening has now been addressed, after the club decided not to promote any players from its academy. With Alexander-Arnold replacing Lucas Vázquez last season and Dumfries now coming in for Carvajal, Madrid have rebuilt a defensive role that had been left open for some time.
