Ronaldo called up by Portugal aged 41

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Portugal's squad for the upcoming international window, despite recent reports that he may be nearing the end of his international career.

Portugal's schedule

Portugal will face Wales at home on 2 October, then Norway away on 5 October, Denmark away on 9 October and Norway again at home on 12 October.

Ronaldo, 41, had already said the 2026 World Cup would be his last appearance in the tournament. Some media outlets had also claimed he was planning to retire from international football after Portugal's match against Wales on 24 September at Sporting's home stadium in Lisbon.
