Mohamed Salah took part in only part of Egypt’s latest training session before the World Cup round-of-16 meeting with Australia, raising questions over his availability for the match.
Egypt’s football federation said the squad trained at Gonzaga University in Spokane, as the team continued preparations for Friday’s game in Dallas. The federation also said Hamdy Fathi completed the full group session.
Mohamed Abdelmonem and Ahmed Fattouh remained on treatment and rehabilitation programmes under the medical staff.
Egypt finished second in Group G with five points, edging through only on goal difference behind Belgium. The coaching staff are due to carry out a final assessment in the coming hours before naming the team to face Australia. The winner will go through to the last 16 of the World Cup.
