A storm broke out during France's match against Iraq in Philadelphia, forcing spectators to leave the ground because of the risk of lightning.
FIFA had already decided to stage the game as scheduled despite reports in recent days that the fixture could be delayed because of the weather. France were leading 1-0 through Kylian Mbappe when the rain and wind arrived in the first half, making the ball difficult to move across the pitch.
Officials then delayed the restart after the break because of the threat of lightning. Supporters stood outside the stadium until conditions improved and they could return to the stands to watch the match continue.
