Thomas Tuchel said England should have scored against Ghana after the sides played out a 0-0 draw in their second World Cup 2026 group match.
The England head coach pointed to Harry Kane’s late chance, when the striker missed an open goal, and said the visitors also created another opportunity soon after.
“We were deserved to score,” Tuchel said, adding that Ghana approached the game more defensively than in their opening match and lined up in a 5-4-1 shape.
Tuchel said England improved as the first half went on, but could not find the goal that would have taken all three points. He also praised the team’s work in stopping Ghana’s counter-attacks for most of the match and said the substitutes did well.
Asked whether he might change England’s plan for the final group game against Panama, Tuchel said he had no clear idea yet. That match is four days away.
