UEFA and its allies are weighing a radical change to FIFA governance as tension around Gianni Infantino continues, with talks in Salzburg including a possible rotating presidency between the confederations.

Football leaders gathered in Salzburg for the Super Cup and used the meeting to discuss FIFA’s future structure. According to the source material, UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin has held several meetings, including one attended by Patrice Motsepe, the head of the Confederation of African Football.
The discussions reportedly covered a review of FIFA governance and the drafting of an assessment paper to define the organisation’s structure and aims.

One proposal under consideration would see the FIFA presidency passed around the confederations if Infantino is forced out or departs. The idea is intended to prevent any future president from holding the same level of authority as Infantino or his predecessors.
The plan would also strengthen FIFA’s administrative machinery around the presidency, creating a more civil-service style structure with a heavier bureaucracy.
