Vinícius Júnior has welcomed Brazil’s 2-1 comeback win over Japan and their place in the World Cup last 16, posting on social media that the team are still alive and want more.
About an hour and a half after the final whistle in Houston, the forward shared a series of photos celebrating the result. In his caption, he wrote: “We are still alive and want more! This win is dedicated to the people of Brazil!”
Vinícius did not score against Japan, despite being one of Brazil’s standout players at the tournament so far. His best chance came after he beat two defenders and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he could not finish.
Brazil trailed early before turning the match around in Texas. The late victory secured their progress to the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
