YouTube adds World Cup coverage to Primetime Channels

YouTube has added FOX One to Primetime Channels, giving subscribers access to live coverage of the World Cup and other Fox content through its in-app store.

The service launches in the platform’s channel line-up at the start of June and costs $19.99 a month. YouTube says it will carry all 104 matches at the tournament, which begins on 11 June, along with Fox Sports, Fox News and local Fox stations.

The package also includes entertainment programming such as MasterChef and Memory of a Killer.

YouTube said Peacock will join Primetime Channels soon, with its Premium Plus tier available for $16.99 a month. That subscription would bring NBC content, Universal films and sport from the NBA, NFL, MLB and the Olympics.

The company said it is still expanding Primetime Channels and will publish more information and guidance as the tournament approaches.
