Zinedine Zidane is preparing to change France's group again as he finalises his second official squad list after a first camp that brought several new faces and clear selection choices.
Returning names and notable absentees
According to Ilna, the first camp under Zidane included newcomers such as Dacounia, Jacquet, Diouf, Reste and Lepaul, while he also used Kylian Mbappé on the left and Rayan Cherki in central midfield.
That second list is expected to bring changes as well. Ousmane Dembélé, Manu Koné and possibly Jules Koundé are among the established names who could miss out, with Koundé still recovering from a left ankle injury.
Aurélien Tchouaméni looks the likeliest return after missing the first camp. Zidane also appears open to more experiments and new options.
Young players in contention
Mathys Tel and Eli Junior Kroupi are among the younger players under consideration. Tel has returned to form at Tottenham after a dip, while Kroupi is back playing for Brentford after injury.
Two further players, Valentin Atangana and Dayan Methalie, have also received pre-call-up notices. Atangana caught Zidane’s staff's attention during France Under-21 duty in late September and early October, when he ended one match with three assists.
Methalie, who has also played for the Under-21s, joined Sunderland last summer and could benefit from uncertainty at left-back.
