Al Diriyah vs Al Taawon 1-1

Al Diriyah and Al Taawon shared a 1-1 draw after Clayton Diandy put the home side in front on 50 minutes and Abderrazak Hamdallah levelled it on 65, with neither side finding a winner after that.

The first half brought no goals, but Al Diriyah were already in the referee’s book when VAR confirmed a card upgrade for Clayton Diandy on 20 minutes and he was then booked two minutes later. Enzo Millot was also cautioned on 33 minutes, and the interval arrived at 0-0.

Diandy broke the deadlock on 50 minutes from Óscar Rodríguez’s assist, before Al Taawon responded on 65 minutes through Hamdallah, assisted by Mohammed Al-Kuwaykibi, after Al Diriyah had made two changes in the same minute and taken off the goalscorer. Al Diriyah had a missed penalty on 79 minutes when Darwin Núñez failed to convert, and the home side then made two more substitutions on 86 minutes as they tried to regain control. Al Taawon also made three changes on 84 minutes, but the equaliser stood as the last goal.

The numbers pointed to a home side that had more of the ball, with 59% possession and 480 passes to Al Taawon's 342, while Al Diriyah also finished with 10 shots to 9, four corners to two and 1.97 expected goals to 0.86. Al Taawon, though, had the edge in shots on target, 2-1, and Al Diriyah were caught offside four times to one.

Al Diriyah collected three yellow cards, for Clayton Diandy, Enzo Millot and Hussain Al-Sabiyani, while Al Taawon had one booking, for Faris Al-Ghamdi. There were no red cards.
