Omonia Nicosia won 3-0 at Stadion Z’dežele after taking their chances in a match Celje controlled for long spells on the ball. Jaden Sean Montnor, Muamer Tanković and Senou Coulibaly scored for the visitors, and a VAR check ruled out a Loïs Diony goal early on.

The game had already had a major intervention by the time Jaden Sean Montnor opened the scoring in the 16th minute, finishing from Ewandro for 1-0 after VAR had cancelled Diony’s effort on 9 minutes. Celje then picked up bookings for Artemijus Tutyskinas in the 13th minute and Łukasz Bejger in the 33rd, before Mario Kvesić came on at half-time and was booked on 52 minutes. Omonia led 1-0 at the break.

Omonia made two changes on 69 minutes and another two on 89, while Montnor was booked on 69 minutes before being replaced in the 75th minute by Mihlali Mayambela, who set up Coulibaly’s third goal on 84 minutes. Celje had 61% of the ball and 671 passes to Omonia’s 428, but the visitors had the sharper edge where it mattered, with 14 shots to 13, six on target to two, six corners to three and an xG figure of 2.13 to 0.92.
