Gustavo Alfaro singled out Kylian Mbappé after Paraguay's 1-0 defeat to France, saying the forward forced his side to alter the way they defended.
Paraguay failed to reach the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup after the loss, and Alfaro used a vivid comparison to describe France's threat, likening the team to a storm.
He said Mbappé made Paraguay worry about his position for the full 90 minutes, with two defenders often sent towards him and sometimes three, without that being enough to stop him.
Alfaro added that Mbappé attacks space, puts defenders under pressure and keeps preparing his next move even when he does not have the ball. For a player at that level, he said, one second can be enough to decide a match.
