Lamine Yamal is the best young talent in world football right now, according to former Brazil midfielder Anderson, who said even Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé are some way behind him.
Anderson's view
Speaking to GOAL, Anderson said: “He is different, there is really no one at this level.” He added that Harry Kane belongs among the five best players in the world, but plays in a different position.
Anderson, a former Golden Boy winner, praised Yamal's physical growth and said the Barcelona winger has added power and pace as he has moved into his late teens. He also pointed to his mindset, saying Yamal speaks first and then delivers on the pitch.
Confidence on the pitch
“He is one of those players who, when he says he will win, he really does win,” Anderson said, referring to games against France and Real Madrid. “This confidence and strong personality make him special. In my view, he deserves to become the best player in the world.”
Anderson also said the race for the 2026 Ballon d'Or will be tight, with several stars in contention.
