Argentina, Austria, and Algeria advance from Group J of the World Cup

Argentina ended Group J with a win over Jordan and finished on nine points to seal top spot and a place in the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Austria and Algeria drew in the other final group match, which left them on four points each and sent both teams through as well. Austria finished second, Algeria third.

Argentina, the defending champions, will face Cape Verde in the last 16 on Saturday, 13 July. Austria meet Spain in the next round, while Algeria have been drawn against Switzerland.
