Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to extend his stay after reaching a final agreement on a new contract, according to BBC Sport. The 44-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of this season.
New deal close
The report says the length of the new contract has not been confirmed. It would, however, take Arteta into a 10th year in charge of the London club if he signs it.
BBC Sport also reports that the new agreement will include a sizeable pay rise on his current package, which is listed as £10 million a year plus £5 million in bonuses.
Arteta's Arsenal record
Arteta has led Arsenal since 2019 and has overseen 361 matches. His record in that spell stands at 220 wins, 67 draws and 74 defeats.
The source also says he ended a 22-year wait for the league title last season by winning the Premier League with Arsenal.
