Athletic Bilbao set Laporte price at €80 million

Athletic Bilbao have told interested clubs that Aymeric Laporte will only leave for €80 million.

Firm stance from San Mamés

The club’s message has been clear: no talks will start below that figure. The report comes from José Félix Díaz, with Spanish outlets also backing the claim.

Laporte returned to Athletic in summer 2025 after leaving Saudi side Al Nassr and quickly became a key part of the team again. His form for Spain at the 2026 World Cup has also put him back on the radar of several major European clubs.

Barcelona and Real Madrid interest

Barcelona are said to have asked about his situation, with sporting director Deco understood to like the idea of signing him. Real Madrid have also been linked, especially with their defensive issues, but reports say there have been no official talks between Madrid and Athletic.

Athletic are pointing to Laporte’s level, experience and importance to the squad as the reason for the valuation. The 32-year-old is contracted until 2028, and the club do not feel under pressure to sell.
