Bosnia's head coach: I'm proud of my players

Sergije Barbarz said he was proud of his players after Bosnia and Herzegovina were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup by the United States.

Bosnia failed to make use of the USA’s 10-man status after Florin Balogun was sent off in the 64th minute, and lost 2-0 to miss out on the round of 16.

Barbarz said the match was difficult and that his side made costly mistakes in both chance creation and ball use. Even with Bosnia two goals behind, he said he felt proud watching the team and described the campaign as something to celebrate rather than mourn.

He also said he is looking forward to returning home and seeing the people of Bosnia. Video messages and phone calls had been welcome, he added, but nothing compares with being among supporters in person.
