Barcelona women named world’s best club again

Barcelona’s women were named the world’s best women’s club at the 2026 Ballon d’Or in London after winning four trophies last season.

A clean sweep in 2025-26

Pere Romeu’s side claimed La Liga, the Copa de la Reina, the Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League in 2025-26. Their biggest result came in the European final, where Barcelona beat Lyon 4-0 to lift the trophy for the fourth time.

Barcelona finished ahead of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Lyon and Club América in the women’s club category. It is the third time the team has won the award, after previous successes in 2023 and 2024. Arsenal took the prize last year.

More awards for Barcelona

Barcelona also collected individual honours on the night. Romeu was named women’s coach of the year, Cata Coll won goalkeeper of the year and Vicky López was voted the world’s best young player for the second year running.
