Crystal Palace’s masterclass in generating revenue from players

Crystal Palace have emerged as one of Europe’s most efficient clubs in the transfer market, with published figures showing they spent €42m to sign four players and later brought in €237m from their sales.

The headline gains

Eberechi Eze arrived for €18m and later represented a transfer value of €69m. Maxence Lacroix cost €18m and is now listed at around €60m.

Michael Olise was signed for €9m and has since risen to a value of €53m, underlining the scale of Palace’s return on their recruitment.

Wan-Bissaka deal stands out

Aaron Wan-Bissaka may be Palace’s best-known success story from the same group. The defender joined on a free transfer and later moved to Manchester United for €55m after establishing himself in the Premier League.

The figures point to a model built on identifying young talent, developing it and moving players on for major profit. Palace have done that while still putting together a competitive side.
